Born in London, England and made his way to Miami Beach Florida in 1925 the Woolfie lure was the subject in February 1953 Florida Wildlife Magazine. He had a friendly argument with a fellow fishing friend Louis Snedigar on who could make the better fishing lure for both salt and fresh water. Woolfie saw one of his daughter’s hair curlers and that gave him an idea for his first model. Three lures were produced….The Woolfie Skimmer, The Woolfie Diver and the Woolfie Pointed Beak Shrimp. Look at the pictures and the lure bodies resemble hair curlers.
