Uncle Charlie Edwards

1940’s

Uncle Charlie History

Charlie was making lures in the late 1940’s and the Banana lure was the first lure he made. Charlie is yet another Florida lure maker that lived in the shadows of Jim Pfeffer. His banana’s were all yellow with a red head and red dots dividing the body and head. He also wrote the baits name on the side of his baits; Unc.Charlie on the large banana, and on a smaller banana he had Unc.Charlie “Buc.Spino”. Charlie’s baits eyes were white with a blue center, hardware simple screw eye.

Other lures seen are the Florida Banana, Buc.Spino, Jr.Spin, Speco, Plug Buctail, Cazara, Chum, Shiner, and Salty which is a pier bait. As far as I know Uncle Charlie Edward is alive but we can’t be sure.
