Dandy Lures

E.J. Lonn – 207 Cedar Ave Tampa, FL

Dandy Lures History

Dandy lures were sold out of Daytona, St. Petersburg and Tampa. The boxes I have seen are a cardboard bottom with a plastic top marked with the following text:

LONN’S SALES ORG’N 207 Cedar Ave Tampa, Florida.

He did not manufacture the lures but had Florida Fishing Tackle Manufacture Co. make them. E.J. Lonn was the sales manager for the Famous Eger Bait Company in the 1930’s but was selling his own brand of lures in the 40’s, which was the Dandy Lures brand.

Much of the information on this page was obtained by utilizing the information provided by Doug Brace, Bill Stuart, and Russell Riddle in “Florida Lure Makers and Their Lures” (Currently out of print). The information we have provided is only a portion of the story.  If interested in purchasing this book, please reach out to other collectors in our forum to inquire about availability.
